BTS Fall 2016 Photoshoot…
When it is 109 degrees in Vegas and you are ready to shoot your fall collection, it helps to have some amazing friends to call on to make magic happen despite the heat. This past week, we shot early pieces from my Fall 2016 collection and I wanted to share a bit of the behind the scenes with you. Keep an eye out for the finished shots to be hitting the website soon, but for now, here are some sneak peaks.
Let me just start by saying I love photo shoots. Most of my days are spent grubby in the studio; designing, fabricating and finishing jewelry. Everything you see on my website is made in my Las Vegas-based home studio and starts with an idea that pops into my mind when I am outsourcing crystals. So, you can imagine how exciting it is for me to get a chance to work with a team and show off these new designs as they live in my head. It is a lot of work, coordination, and nervousness to put a shoot together, but seeing the creations come to life is worth all of it.
Fall 2016 is all about statement jewels. I am loving that chokers are having their moment in the sun again, and I decided to step my crystal chokers up a notch and make them bigger, sparklier and add some color. These chokers are meant to be noticed! On top of that, I added some large raw crystal collar necklaces to the mix. Smokey Quartz, Labradorite, and Spirit Quartz are at the center of many of my new pieces and are perfect compliments to a fall wardrobe.
Even the rings got a boost this fall, here’s the Pyrite cocktail ring, sparkling in the sun.
When you get to work with like minded creatives (and their adorable children who tag along to “climb the mountain”), time flies by quickly. Over the course of 5 hours, we shot 6 looks, over 300 photos, and chowed our way through a giant bag of apples, smartfood and many bottles of water. My lovely models Amy and Janelle are probably still seeing spots from staring into the sun, but I couldn’t be happier with the initial results.

Meet the lovely team behind the scenes; I would be lost without the creativity and collaboration of these ladies. Amanda Urbanski (@Hairbypinkie) from Glo Salon, Tanya Evans (@tanyastouchofglam) and Kate Eissinger (@kateloveshair) from Atelier by Square Salon. A few more of my favorite shots of these girls in action.
A big thank you to Retail Therapy, Las Vegas. This adorable resale boutique lent the looks for this shoot, and couldn’t have been more helpful pulling fall styles out of the back for me. I am also excited to partner with them for a Girl’s Night Shopping Party in their store this Saturday, July 30th, from 4pm-8pm. If you are in Las Vegas, stop by and enjoy an evening of artisan Jewelry, snacks, and fabulous fashion. I will have new fall designs to debut, as well as some of my classic styles and even some new crystals for the home. Hope to see you all there.
